Class B or Class C? The 2022 Winnebago Ekko Answers the Call for Both

Are you ready to take your travel clan off the common trail? While many rec vans may come with all the bells and whistles for off-grid exploration, more often than not, you may find yourself compromising the comforts of storage and living space. This isn’t to say you can’t find a camper van that meets your needs between AWD maneuverability and true home-on-wheels capacity.

The all-new 2022 Winnebago Ekko is the perfect example of a model design that brings the ‘best of both worlds’ for RVers that may be on the fence of choosing between a Class B or Class C. This one-of-a-kind motorhome is bringing a whole new meaning of freedom to aspiring campers looking to travel off the common trail in complete comfort and in fine company of their close friends or friends in any destination or season.

The Fit RV are some of our favorite road warriors. All imagery has been taken on their epic travels. To follow along with their adventures you can check out their Instagram by clicking here, or check out their website for everything you could possibly need to know about van travel and lifestyle. They even have an extensive video tour of the Ekko! Go check it out.

Adventure Anywhere in Any Season

Built on an all-wheel-drive Ford transit van chassis, the Winnebago Ekko maintains a short length and height that allows for easy travel in any type of environment or terrain. The chassis is lined wilth all-season insulation, keeping tanks, waterlines and travelers warm through snow fronts. Meanwhile, the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine provides plenty of torque and horsepower to take your travels beyond the next knoll or slope. The Ekko sets its own standard with 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, stylized performance wheels with six tires total (two in the front and four in the rear) along with a spare tire for emergencies. You know you’ll be riding in comfort with renowned Truma heating and cooling, Gold Certified for cold weather capability.

Get Your Camping Gear and Grub On

While you are looking to enjoy some shade beneath your patio awning, you now can make camp beneath extra shade with the optional batwing rear awning, keeping the sun from beating on your back as you fill up your cooler or unload your adventure toys. This is the perfect ride for van dwellers looking to level up their camping game with ample storage space for adventure gear. The heated rear exterior storage garage offers plenty of room for every item you may have on your travel list, from mountain bikes and inflatable kayaks to foldable camping tables and chairs. Get your grub on after a long day outside with the optional exterior kitchen, complete with a chest style 12V refrigerator/freezer, 2-burner LP cooktop, flip-up counter extension, quick connect faucet, collapsible sink, and LP quick connect hose.

Get Ready to Go Off-Grid

Boondock virtually anywhere for an extended stay with the power of an off-grid ready, 3-panel 455-watt solar system. If sunlight is sparse, the onboard energy independent 315-amp-hour lithium-ion batteries are always charging by a dedicated second alternator while you’re behind the wheel. If you’re the type that prefers quiet camping in the heart of nature, you can opt for the doubled 630-amp-hour capability rather than the standard 2,800-watt gas generator.

More Space To Refresh and Unwind

Enjoy every comfort of home while away from home with flexible seating/sleeping arrangement and energy-efficient galley appliances while experiencing the true camping getaway sensation with the optional pop-top feature. The Ekko also features an innovative dry/wet bath with a pivoting partition that separates the shower from the toilet and sink, making it functionally easy to share your camper space with friends and family. Further living space flexibility is included with the swiveling galley extension that doubles as a work and play table. If you’re just traveling alone or with your partner, simply convert two rear twin beds into a cozy queen sized flex bed.
